In Salou, the best times are spent on the beaches or the shelter of its coast. Con más de 14 kilómetros de fachada marítima, With more than 14 Kilometres of prime coastline, in Salou you´ll find beaches in the town, fully accessible and maintained, with a host of services. But you´ll also find sheltered coves at the feet of cliffs and beautiful pine forests, more relaxed and remote.

Salou is well reknowned for both the quality and proximity of its facilities and services, to make sure you enjoy your stay. The beaches of Ponent and Llevant, the closest to its center, are a clear example of the approved Family Tourism Destination status that Salou boasts: they are fully accessible with services for all the family.

Both have great facilities for the kids. Even more so in Llevant, with the addition of the Kids Club, which runs during July and August, with workshops and events led by trained and qualified staff, which the children are sure never to forget.

There are fixed First Aid points and lifeguard posts on the beaches of Ponent, Llevant, Capellans and Llarga. Throughour the Cape of Salou, in the coves without fixed vidulance points, there are always regular checks.

PortAventura (European Destination Resort) is one of the leading holiday theme parks, located in the municipal of Salou. Founded in 1995, and after its initial success and the opening of its hotels and the Costa Caribe Aquatic Patk, it was transformed into one of the leading tourist resorts in the whole of Europe.

The Theme Park is made up of 6 distinct areas: The Meditteranena, the Wild West, Mexico, China, Polyneisa, Sesame Street, and offers its visitors more than 30 attractions, 15 show everyday, 75 eating outlets and 27 gift shops.

Cirque du Soleil is based in PortAventura with new shows every season, with adventures packed with impossible acrobatics and an unforgettable experience guaranteed. Around 2,400 spectators enjoy great shows every day. In the China themed area this year comes the exciting launch of Angkor, a thrilling journey which is set to break the record for the longest of its kind in Europe.

PortAventura also has its own Oceanographic centre: Costa Caribe Aquatic Park, extended and completely renovated in 2013. The resort is topped off with a convention centre which can accommodate up to 4000 people.

The abundant gastronomy releases all the colours, smells and flavours fo the region. More than 200 restaurants offer meditteranean cuisine, street-food, fresh seafood and typical local dishes. The proximity of the sea and the local vineyards means an unforgettable and guaranteed dining experience. Internation cuisine is also well represented, alongside the local delicacies.

The basis of the Mediterranean cuisine to be sampled in Salou is made up of olive oil, fish, seafood, vegetables, dried fruit and nuts – such as almonds or hazelnuts. Likewise, very close to Salou you can discover 5 denominations of wine with different origins: DOQ Priorat, DO Montsant, DO Conca de Barberà, DO Tarragona, DO Penedès, which can be enjoyed in the local towns.
